Normally, I wouldn't really be interested in this, but one of my friends from home is on this show.  She's in Blake Shelton's OKC choir.  If you have nothing better to do Tues, Wed, & Thurs @ 7, watch NBC & look for her--she has long, reddish hair.  It's kind of surreal to see someone you know really, really well on national TV.  (Otherwise, the show's not really worth watching...it's pretty much a celebrity lookameeeee!!-fest.  But there's not really much alternative when all the writers are striking.)

I watched part of the first one and actually kinda liked it.  It was a joke to watch the Oklahoma guy try to put a choir together.  Not that he picked bad singers.  He just doesn't know very much about music.

I know.  Well, he knows about his kind of music, but not anything about choirs or...you know, actually reading notes.  I'm kinda thinking that he probably didn't actually have a whole lot to do with the choosing of the people, or the actual teaching of the music, or anything constructive like that, but I could be wrong.  I'll have to ask my friend about how it actually worked.

If you saw the first one, my friend was the one who started singing Ave Maria for her audition, to which he said, "Can you sing something to me in English?"  Her response:  "Ummmmm..."  It was pretty funny.

That show was way too nice. The judges never said anything critical. Though, I am glad GE gave 50k to Project Rebuild in Oklahoma.

Haha, yeah, well, they weren't really judges so much as the leaders of the other choirs...& they all wanted to sound nice, I guess.  They were all competing for charity anyway, so it's not like their criticism would've mattered in the long run.
